Recently, type tests for five types of 220kV power steel poles, designed for a Pakistani client, were successfully completed at the China Electric Power Research Institute. This marks the highest number of steel pole designs ever tested under a single project led by METAVAST Group.
The five pole designs, jointly developed by the Pakistani client and METAVAST Group, passed the rigorous 30-day testing process in a single attempt. The tests set two industry records: the heaviest pole weight (46.25 tons) and the largest load condition (maximum bending moment exceeding 43,500 kN·m).
Throughout the testing process, the project team maintained strict control over every phase, including design optimization, raw material procurement, production monitoring, quality management, and scheduling coordination. The team meticulously executed the test plan, achieving several breakthroughs in technical capabilities and manufacturing processes.
Following the successful tests, over 2,000 tons of power steel poles will be produced in batches according to the client’s requirements and delivered overseas.
This successful type testing not only provided extensive data but also enriched the team’s experience, enhancing METAVAST Group’s technical expertise and capacity to serve international clients. It represents another milestone in strengthening the company’s global market presence and technical leadership.
